Queen Lizzy’s was chuffed to learn that our customers voted for us in the 2012 Best of Lawrence and 2012 Best of Kansas City awards — and that we’d won in several categories! In the 2012 Best of Lawrence, Queen Lizzy’s was named Lawrence’s Best New Restaurant, up against some absolutely brilliant competition. In the 2012 Best of Kansas City, Queen Lizzy’s was named Best Fish & Chips, and won several of the coveted Readers’ Choice awards, including Best Take-Out, 2nd Place in Best Breakfast and Best New Restaurant, and 3rd Place in Best French Fries! We pleased as punch that our customers have supported us so well in our first 6 weeks of operation, as we got our feet under us. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve listened to your suggestions and have now not only reduced our prices, but also now offer a separate lunch menu with smaller-sized portions for the midday! You can peruse our new lunch menu, and our reduced-price dinner menu, by clicking the “menu” button at the top-left of the screen. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing seasonal special items to the menu, including Steak & Onion Pie, Chicken & Mushroom Pie, and more, as well as expanding our hours! Queen Lizzy’s started with a “soft opening”, to test out procedures and demand, on Tuesday October 18th. On that first day, we had to close after 90 minutes, having gone through what we had assumed would be a two-day supply of food! We upped our supply order, and tried again on Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday. The demand continued to grow, as did our order from our supplier! We had a few snags — mostly serving delays due to equipment and staffing bottlenecks, but that’s why one does a soft open! We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone for all your support. While we were pretty optimistic that this idea would work well, we have been absolutely stunned by the response. We will keep working to accommodate everyone, to bring you more menu items, and to give you good, timely service. So far there are two
