Soft Opening a Smash!

Queen Lizzy’s started with a “soft opening”, to test out procedures and demand, on Tuesday October 18th. On that first day, we had to close after 90 minutes, having gone through what we had assumed would be a two-day supply of food! We upped our supply order, and tried again on Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday. The demand continued to grow, as did our order from our supplier! We had a few snags — mostly serving delays due to equipment and staffing bottlenecks, but that’s why one does a soft open!

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone for all your support. While we were pretty optimistic that this idea would work well, we have been absolutely stunned by the response. We will keep working to accommodate everyone, to bring you more menu items, and to give you good, timely service.

So far there are two things that we’re pretty excited about. The first is that the demand means that we’re able to purchase new equipment, that will help us serve you better. The second was the idea that if things went well, maybe a couple months down the road, we’d be able to hire one or two more people to help out. Well, we’re going to be looking for help much sooner than that, and we’re excited at the opportunity to create a job or two.

Again, thank you all so much for your interest and support, and our deepest apologies to everyone that we’ve had to turn away when we’ve run out of food. To all of you, thank you, and we can’t wait to see you again!
