A Taste of Great Britain In The Great Plains!
This is a very difficult announcement for us to make, and one that we’ve come to after a great deal of discussion and soul-searching. It is with regret that we announce that on December 21st 2012 Queen Lizzy’s will be closing its store front at 125 E 10th St. One of the reasons we’re closing the storefront is because we’re paying too much in rent for our space and we’ve never been able to get enough ahead to realistically look at moving into a better place. There are also some personal reasons why we need to make this change at this time, that have been very difficult to deal with, but part of life is choosing what you can and can’t be there for.
We have decided to refocus Queen Lizzy’s into a direct sales and event catering company. In the New Year you will be able to purchase Queen Lizzy’s sausage rolls, scotch eggs, and more direct from us or from Brits. We will have more information on this soon.
It is our hope that Queen Lizzy’s will return as a restaurant soon, and all possible effort will be made to secure funding to reopen in a new home. We originally opened Queen Lizzy’s on approximately half a shoestring, and it was not enough to give all of you the restaurant you deserved to enjoy.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all our customers for their cheer and support. Without you we would never have been voted best new restaurant or best fish and chips in KC. We have a great group of regular customers and I am sorry we will not be able to feed you for a while. Again, thank you for supporting us, and we hope that this will let us move forward and change things for the better. Queen Lizzy’s WILL be back!
